TREASURER
Toby Fotheringham 4th Year Physics Toby has been swimming competitively since he was 10. He was part of a swimming club in Hampshire and managed to make counties when he was 13, however the club lost their pool time the following year so he stopped training properly through his school and college career. Since joining LUSWP three years ago he has worked his way up from the Development Swimming Squad to the Performance Swimming Squad, and he has competed for LUSWP in BUSL, BUCS, Team BUCS and Roses. He has had so much fun being a part of LUSWP and has never enjoyed swimming as much as he has during his time with us. |
WELFARE OFFICER
Bobbi Cox 2nd Year Law Bobbi has been swimming at a club level since she was 7 at Keynsham and City of Bristol Aquatics. Some of her favourite swimming moments are swimming in the Olympic Pool in London, and coming 4th at Welsh Nationals in the 400IM. She has competed at county and regional level in a range of events - her main events being 200IM and 100 Breastroke. Bobbi started her time at LUSWP in the Development Swimming Squad but has recently progressed to the Performance Swimming Squad. She says that LUSWP has helped her love swimming again after her A-levels and she cannot wait for another year with the club. |
MEN'S+ PERFORMANCE SWIMMING CAPTAIN
Ethan Billinge 4th Year Mechanical Engineering Ethan has been swimming since the age of 8 and competitively since the age of 10. He has competed at counties, regionals and nationals. He used to train with Adam Peaty under Mel Marshal and he was also part of a regional talent camp. He taught swimming for 2 years before coming to university and joining LUSWP. |
WOMEN'S+ PERFORMANCE SWIMMING CAPTAIN
Lucy King 2nd Year Biology Lucy has swam since she was 9 for her home club, Hitchin Swimming Club, and she has competed at county and regional level. She took 2 years out of swimming during her A-levels and gap year, and then joined LUSWP Performance Swimming Squad last year. Her favourite stroke is breastroke and she says the most fun event is the 100m freestyle. She has also competed in multiple open water events before realising she wasn't a fun of the cold water! |
WOMEN'S+ WATERPOLO CAPTAIN
Nyxon Rockliffe-Fidler 4th Year Ecology and Conservation Nyxon has been a waterpolo player for 13 years, and she has competed at a national stage, as well as in numerous local and national leagues. LUSWP was the natural choice of society for her. She has been described as a 'danger woman' because she plays both rugby and waterpolo. She also won 2022/23 Sportsperson of the Year! |
WOMEN'S+ WATERPOLO CAPTAIN
Amelia Jones 2nd Year Geography Amelia has been playing waterpolo for around 9 years, and she has represented many clubs at local and regional level. Playing waterpolo at university has allowed her to meet some of her closest friends and has made her love the sport so much more! |

Kirsty Williams 3rd Year Medicine Kirsty started competitive swimming when she joined her home club at the age of 9 and she competed up to Regional level. She had a break for a couple of years after COVID and she started swimming again with LUSWP at uni. |
MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Luci Stanley 2nd Year Business Management (Industry) Luci started swimming from the age of 3 and competitive swimming from the age of 8. She has competed at both county and regional level and she became Club Captain for her home club in 2022. Luci took a break from competitive swimming just after COVID, but she joined LUSWP in her first year at Lancaster and made it into the Performance Swimming Squad. She has made so many friend during her time at the club and LUSWP has helped her to enjoy the sport again. |
SOCIAL SECRETARY
Charlie Oldfield 3rd Year Maths Charlie swam from the age of 6 till 18 for her local swimming club. It wasn't a competitive team so she's always just swam socially. She joined LUSWP in her second year and is in the Development Swimming Squad. She says she has loved every minute of it - apart from the fly sets! |
SOCIAL SECRETARY
Izzy Outram 2nd Year Biomed Izzy has been playing waterpolo since she was 11 (pretty much for as long as she can remember). When she was 12 she competed in her first inter-regional tournament for West Midlands and has since been in 4 others. She stopped playing just before her A-levels and didn't start again until joining LUSWP in second term of last year. However, she wishes she had joined earlier because she loves it (especially the socials). |
